This directory contains sequence files from S. pombe in FASTA format.

The "chromosomes" sub-directory contains a file of DNA sequences for:
  - chromosomes I, II, III
  - the mating type region
  - mitochondrial genome
  - the chromosome II telomeric gap
  - all genomic DNA

The files in the "feature_sequences" sub-directory contain sequences separated
depending on the type of features they correspond to:
  - DNA sequences for: - entire gene sequences including coding sequences (CDS) + 
                         introns + 5' and 3' untranslated regions (UTR)
                       - CDS + introns
                       - CDS only
                       - 5' UTRs, excluding UTR introns
                       - 3' UTRs, excluding UTR introns
                       - introns located in CDSs (excluding UTR introns)
  - peptide.fa: Peptide sequences of all proteins

The "bgzip_chromosomes" directory contains a file of all genomic DNA,
pre-indexed for use by JBrowse Version 2.

These files are part of PomBase release 2025-04-01
